Simple and Creative Cakes
You don't need to be a professional cake decorator or pay store bought cake prices in order to create a simple and creative Masterpiece! All you need is a cake mix, icing, and a little creativity. My Mom made my sister and I's birthday cakes growing up and I loved them because they were from her. When my first daughter had her 1st birthday I wanted the perfect cake to celebrate this wonderful milestone so I bought it. $25 later I brought it home and it was perfect and professional, but it didn't reflect who she really was. I decided from then on that I would attempt to make my own cakes. 8 kids later I have a lot of ideas for you!

Race Track Cake
Since I do doll cakes for my girls on their 8th birthdays, I wanted something different and special for my son on his 8th birthday so I figured out how to make a #8 using 2 round cake pans.
I crunched up oreos to be the black track, added candy pieces to be the road dividing lines, made race flags attached to pretzels, added a race car, and presto a 8th Birthday Racetrack Cake for a boy!
